WELCOME TO THE GEORGETOWN ACREE'S
FAMILY TREE, AS WE KNOW IT
We beleive the Georgetown Acree's  has been traced back to the early 1700's.

We Beleive our Great-Great Grand-father was Johan William Acker
Who came to America in the 1700's From Nurenberg Germany.

We beleive our Great Grand-father was Franklin Acker.
Son of Johan William Acker and our great Grand-mother was Susan ( McCain ) Acker.
Of Phillips Etowah Co., Alabama. South east of Boaz Alabama.
The parents of our Grand-father James Thomas Acree .

Our story begins with our Grandparents James Thomas Acree,
( who we beleive may have been the son of Franklin Acker )
And Sue Sindy  ( Scott ) Acree from Boaz, Alabama. At their birth around 1860.

James Thomas Acree married Sue Sindy Scott around 1880,  and they became the parents of four children born in Boaz, Alabama.

       James Author.  September 8, 1881,
       William Henry. September 20, 1883,
       Lizzie May. October 20, 1884
       And John Wesley, in 1886.

James and Sue and these four children traveled by covered wagon with his Brother Wesley Acree and his wife Dora Acree from Boaz Alabama,
Wesley and Dora Acree settled in Searcy Arkansas,
( we thank Wesley name was Eather John Wesley or George Wesley Acree )

And our Grandfather  James Thomas and Sue Sindy Acree settled in West Point Arkansas.
About 8 miles from Searcy around 1890, on a farm known as the Swan-Garrison place, on the banks of the little red river about three miles from West Point. After settling in West Point they became the parents of two more children.

Thomas Franklin Acree, November 19, 1892.
And Steve David Acree, May 30, 1895.

Shortly after they were born Grandpa James Thomas Acree died June 2, 1896,
and Grandma Sue Sindy Acree died May 5, 1899.
We believe they are both buried in the old Nelson-Georgetown cemetery or the West Point Cemetery.

They both passed away while the children was very young the smaller children were raised by foster parents. Thomas Franklin was raised by a family named Kibons in Dogwood near Griffaville Arkansas. And Steve David was raised by a family named Bellville in West Point Arkansas.  The other four children were old enough that they made it on their own.

Lizzie May Acree Married Lynn Taylor at the age of sixteen,  and shortly afterwards Thomas Franklin came to live with Lynn and Lizzie Taylor.  By this time Thomas Franklin was old enough to help earn a living and him and uncle Lynn  worked for a man by the Name of Austin Smith at West Point taking care of his Stock.

On March 23, 1913 at the age of twenty one our father Thomas Franklin Acree.
Married Mattie Viola Wright from Georgetown Arkansas. And They Became the Parents of eight children.

Lorn Franklin,  Pearlie May,  Ida Fay,
       Rose lee,  George Wesley, Lenora,
Thomas Max and Ruby Rozella Acree.

And this is where our family tree begins as we know it.
